ABOUT PUPO

Our mission is to combat social issues within communities through education, outreach, and advocacy.  PUPO exists to introduce the theatrical arts to the world through thought provoking stage plays with a social conscience. PUPO strives to educate and provide outreach to the general public. PUPO provides access to stage plays that deal with current social issues such HIV/AIDS awareness, domestic violence, child advocacy, homelessness, and relationships. Our goal is to educate, uplift, and inspire through entertainment. We aspire to be a positive force in EduTainment! 

PUPO serves the entire community. As we grow we will not only serve communities in our immediate area but in communities all over the world. Our goal is to collaborate with other organizations whose mission and goals align with ours to inspire and edutain the community. Our population includes anyone who has been affected by any of the themed productions and anyone who continues to seek education.

Saleemah started showcasing plays in 2008 in the Dallas/Ft Worth Texas Metroplex and founded Put Ur Play On Productions in 2015. Playwriting started as an idea with a friend but continues as the issues addressed continue to plague our community. A native of Oakland, California whose undergraduate studies were accomplished at Grambling State University and attained her jurisdoctorate degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Angel Galloway

General Manager
Angel was raised in the Bay Area in Oakland and Hayward. She joined Put Ur Play On in 2018 as the Assistant Director and Director of Light and Sound. As the production company has grown, so has her role. She has a degree in Business with over 20 years in the Healthcare field and is pursuing another degree in Healthcare Management. PUPO’s focus on social issues are in line with her social and healthcare passion, by bringing awareness to the audience through Edutainment.

Anthony Dixon

Anthony has over 10+ years of managing experience and as Project Manager he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to PUPO. Anthony brings more than professional experience- he also brings his talent to the stage as an actor. A native of Oakland where the mail knows where you live and there is hydrogen in the water.

Siddeeqah Shabazz

Siddeeqah Shabazz(she/her) is originally from Oakland, CA with degrees in theatre from the University of La Verne and the Guildford School of Acting in England. She has been an actor for the last 20 years and has spent the last 10 years working in arts education . As a youth worker she started off as a teaching artist and youth coordinator at Pillsbury House + Theatre and moved on to work at the Guthrie Theater as an education manager. She has worked with youth from all backgrounds and in many capacities and she is passionate about continuing that work as the Executive Director of Kulture Klub Collaborative which is an arts organization working with youth experiencing homelessness. As an actor Siddeeqah has worked with the Long Beach Playhouse and Lewis Family Playhouse Climb in southern California. In Minnesota she has worked with Shadow Horse, Gadfly, Chain Reaction, Freshwater, and 20% Theaters, Exposed Brick Theatre, Savage Umbrella, Aniccha Arts, Intermedia Arts, Artistry, Underdog Theatre, Transatlantic Love Affair, Full Circle Theatre, and Yellowtree Theatre. She recently assistant directed Atacama at Park Square Theatre with Full Circle Theatre and her firat play will premiere in September with Exposed Brick Theatre. She is a Doctor Who (2005), Harry Potter, and fiber arts enthusiast!
